It is not easy to create a new dish. However, when there is a competition and you want to participate you would have no choice but to do it - cooking it and writing the recipe down. I am glad to say that I had done it and done it well as this dish had won me a consolation prize in a cooking competition in a daily home-cooked meal group. I hope that you will try cooking it and give your verdict on the dish.
Ingredients:
- 1 piece soft tofu, cut into 9 smaller cubes
- 250 g lean pork, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, chopped
- 2 tsp whole bean (tauchu) paste
- 1 tbsp light soy sauce
- 3 tbsp water
- 1 chili padi, cut into small pieces
- 1 stalk spring onion, cut into 1-inch length
Instructions:
- Heat up wok and deep fry tofu. Then dish out the tofu and set aside.
- Saute garlic and when it is fragrant put in the pork slices to fry.
- When the pork is almost cooked, put in 2 tsp of whole bean paste followed by a tbsp of light soy sauce and chili padi.
- Add in 3 tbsp of water. Let it boil.
- Add in the tofu. Stir gently.
- Add in the spring onion. Stir lightly.
- Dish is ready to be served.
